Hi all

Just installed WB (About below)

I've tried about 10 different skins so far and love all of them, however, I want to exclude a couple of app so used Settings --> Per Apps and then selected the .exe to exclude. i checked the box for total exclusion but each skin i have tried still changes the excluded app..

What am I doing wrong??

Many thanks for the help as WB is wicked

Tim

Have you tried unloading and then reloading Windowblinds (or a reboot) after excluding those .exe's ?

Hi DrJBHL

Yes, unfortunately that was my first thought so rebooted. Same thing; the apps that shouldn't be skinned remain skinned

illucypher ... most commonly that's due to excluding the wrong exe.  Some proggies have a 'launcher' which is what needs to be excluded.

.....or the particular build of WB is having issues....

Which proggies are you wanting to exclude?

When set to "exclude", is Windowblinds still actually replacing the titlebar image, or is it just changing the colors of the Excel windows, tabs, text, menus, etc.?

Quoting DaveRI,

Changing the Theme colours etc in all three, so for example what should be a blank white empty .docx has been hijacked so the doc is dark grey, text isn't black anymore its pale grey etc

Same in excel, the normally white cells are dark grey

much appreciated that so many peeps are looking to help so quickly

When you exclude Excel, you should be seeing the standard Windows images such as the titlebar (top part of the window) and the sides of the window frame.  They shouldn't be getting replaced by the skin's images. If that is the case, it is being excluded properly.

The changing of the colors is a separate issue.  The colors are actually "System Colors" which are set by the skin, but when the app is excluded from Windowblinds the skin's System colors remain.  (Otherwise there would be a complete hodgepodge of color combinations.)

You can change the colors if you like.  It's a bit ambitious if you're just starting with Windowblinds, it does actually change the skin settings (they will load up that way again the next time you load it), and it is a really good idea to back up or copy off your skin before you start playing with it.

One other thing -

A lot of times a skin will have different substyles, such as "Dark" and "Light", which takes care of this.  Have a look for one of those in a skin first.  I keep forgetting to mention that.

I have a silly question, is the WB  program UITEST.EXE supposed to be in the excluded list by default?

Come to think of it....they are some game loaders...and wouldn't be in a default setup.

My mistake [was so long ago]...

The latest version of WB fixed the problem with Palemoon's titlebar not painting properly with PPx frames when using the same skin for all windows/apps.  However, if I select a per app skin for palemoon.exe, the title bar & frames do not paint correctly and look like they did before the bug was fixed in the current version.  At least here, per app skinning does not appear to be fully sorted out yet.

Loaded system-wide skin in this case is Primavera.  Per app skin selected for Palemoon was Cideral.  Win7Pro/64bit.  I'll try using some other skins to see if this is an across-the-board issue or skin-specific.

Here's what I'm seeing, Zu:

Normal (system-wide skin - Primavera) -

Normal Titlebar

With Palemoon perapp skin set to Cideral (system-wide skin - Primavera) -

PerApp Titlebar
