Pics Taken After Tornado

What a storm.....

This first pic was't taken by me. This is the Walmart across the highway from my house.  Maybe 1/4 mile from me.

 

This is my son holding some hail. This is ping pong ball sized, we later got some golf ball sized.

 

 

 

This is a usually dry area in my backyard. We got 3" of rain in less than an hour.

 

 

 

 

More backyard.

 

 

 

This happened about 3 miles from my house.

WOW ... Does this happen often?

Could not imagine myself living in a Tornado zone

We're all ok. No, it don't happen often, thank God. It was kind of exciting, and yet scary at the same time. (Xiandi loves this stuff...lol.)

My dogs were very scared, one was shaking badly. My son was pretty torn up, at first.

I guess it was the worst storm I have ever actually been in. I have always been fascinated with tornados. I would love to be a storm chaser.

Did you see the movie Twister? Now that was scary. I've seen videos of Tornadoes sweeping across the landscape. The power inside one of those things is amazing. Good thing they left you alone. I don't want to hear we're not in Kansas anymore.

A sense of humor is priceless in the wake of Mother Nature's fury. If I ever find myself looking at one of those things I think I'll either soil my britches or laugh myself silly thinking of Doc's rendition of RnD's yard sale.

I do! I should have been a storm chaser. Tornadoes are powerful and fascinating.... as long as you are not right in them! 

You should see me when we have a strong storm around here... I perk right up, lol! Lightning, thunder, high winds, hail...LOVE IT! I lived in Oklahoma for a while, and the storms we got there were amazing!

I live in Mississippi, where tornados are common enough. Been in this state about 6 years now, and still get nervous everytime we get put under a tornado watch. Thankfully, I've managed to escape them, but I've seen several not to far from where I've lived. One night about 4 years ago a tornado passed about 1/2 mile from where I was working.

I've sat out in the woods and watched them pass about 2 miles from where I was living. It's eerie around here when tornados form. I've seen the sky turn green from it.

Glad you and your family came through that unscathed. Last time I saw a tornado touching down, I was a kid. Don't remember it much now, other than it being dark and loud and we were driving away really fast.

Ask Jim to dig up the ones in his back yard. The ones with the Bux inside. I betcha he's got all of two maybe three of them. Oh ... cut the grass first. Clippers and shears and stuff are in the workshed next to the outhouse. The one with the little crescent moon on it.
