WiFi signal booster

i am considering purchasing a laptop in jan and wonder wether or not these WiFi signal boosters actually work, if so can anyone recommend a good one?

I have a Linksys Wifi Router (I think the model number is W54RTGS) and added the db (larger size) antenna. It does work for me. My computer in the office before the antenna was at 72% and is now 90%. Also, I rasied the Wifi router to the highset point in the Living room, which also helped. Ditch

thanx ditch - i will check that out. where i live in south london the main telecommunications mast at crystal palace is visible, hopefully this will help
