K so, when i open logonstudio xp it says before it opens: Logon Studio is no more registered as Logon Screen Editor. Do you want to register it? i choose yes becuase if i hit no it closes the program. and when i download logon skins and apply them in logonstudio it does nothing. when i first downloaded it, it would apply it i guess and then log me off but it would still be the same Windows XP logon. any ideas?
did you install LogonStudio to the default path or another path?
it's always worked for me in: C:\Program Files\WinCustomize\
with the unzipped logons in: C:\Program Files\WinCustomize\LogonStudio
Default - where should it be?
C:\Program Files\WinCustomize\LogonStudio

if you got it somewhere else, open LS, click "options" on the left and you can change the address where the logons are stored
Thats where its stored - i have Firefox so it automatically installs it there. like when i chose a skin and hit apply nothing happens. i have my skins saved in the wincustomize folder too.
ie:
C:\Program Files\WinCustomize\LogonStudio\name of skin (folder)
what's in each skins folders?
should be a bunch of bitmaps, and ini, a uifile, a preview, an old layout
does the file extension show on your downloads.. like .. .logonxp
try:
you can ignore the Vista Theme Pack reference, unless........
That would indicate that you had another Logon changing program installed.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling Logon Studio, that may work.
hence the ignore unles....
and you missed it by one Boss
But you didn't mention the uninstall/reinstall...
true... but it would have so cool if you had shown up as reply 10 since that was the one I was quoting....
Yeah...logons are about the only thing I AM quotable on.
at least you're quotable...
apparently I'm only thumpable...
sorry i didnt reply until now - yes obviously i would check all this stuff before posting my problem lol.. ive tried unistalling and reinstalling multiple times, the logon skins DO go right into the studio and everything. everything you guys are saying i already did before i posted in here. its when i go to apply the logon skin IN logonstudio nothing happens - its like the button does nothing.
moving your logons someplace safe
then download and run The Zapper - then reboot and try a fresh install
if you haven't used the zapper before - you have to choose that which it zaps
