Rebooting Removes Skin

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.4 (build 73 x86) - Shareware

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

(Plug and Play Monitor) 1 is attached to NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

Not that anything has changed since my last post.

So I can get WindowBlinds to work if I uninstall it, CClean my system, reinstall it. However, if I turn my system off the program will not work when I turn it back on. I can go through the entire uninstall... series again and everything will be fine, but really, that's a lot of work just everytime I turn my computer on.

When I start up my computer, the WindowBlinds controller application opens up, but it will only "install" the MS themes.

it is possible that StyleXP has broken something to the point that you may need to format and reinstall XP.

It's conceivable, but it stopped working with SP3 because they stopped updating the program.

And really, nothing else seems to be affected, just WindowBlinds. If it were to come to a choice between not buying this program and reformatting, I'm going to lean on not buying

Depending on how long you had been using it or the version you used, StyleXP hacks Windows system files, since WindowBlinds does not, it needs a system with proper Windows system files to work properly.

It's more likely that SP3 broke it in a way that updating it to work was no longer possible. Have you considered uninstalling SP3 so that you can use StyleXP again? If that or a reformat is out of the question,then you may just be out of luck. Sorry.

I believe that i have to agree here that the combinations of StyleXP and Windows updates/SP3 is the reason for your problems. Did you try a internet search to see if you find any answers?

Reformating may be your only recource to get your system back to 'original settings' because of how StyleXP does what it does.

Not knowing how much time has passed since you first installed StyleXP you may no longer have a system restore point that is prior to that time so that may not work.
