OK. Call me anal but all the gradient silhouettes are driving me nuts. So I decided to make a full set avatar from the Elemental resources we currently have. Please note that Luckmann has added many more avatars to the collection.You can get them below.

I have tried to include suggested pages to find more avatars by the various avatars if you want to look further. You can also use the "view edits" button if you're very very brave to view all previous versions of this main thread and the images where-in.

This OP is under construction. Due to some browsing issues it is being completely reformatted and built from scratch. There are other user avatars and lots of additional avatars that are supposed to be here in the OP. Jalicos (page: 15) and eplekogen (page: 5) come to mind right away. They should have avatars in this OP soon. Of course wintersong has tons of avatars scattered throughout the web. its a work in progress tracking them down and sorting into 'official art' and 'unofficial art' especially since some of the old 'official' art did not match the current style as well as others.
We are busy people though, and editing this takes more time than one might think.

Ah. I remember seeing that "Elemental Animals" piece before, but for some reason I didn't recognize the fox without the other three. I just assumed it was your offering to appease the kitkun, but it looked enough like pixel art that it could have come from a game. I don't remember any games featuring a pissed-off kitsune, though.
Legend of the Five Rings has plenty of pissed off kitsune. Especially in my Samurai edition Kitsune deck.
@wintersong&Luckmann : I guess we should decide when to trade avatars. I figure since we have no way of knowing when the alpha goes live, we should just trade now that the NDA e-mails have gone out.
I got into the Star Trek CCG, myself. I heard of Lot5R, but never met anyone who played it. The mere possibility of a kitsune deck and all the hilarious mayhem and confusion such a thing would cause is making me wish I had.
Now I'm wondering where kitkun's avatar is from. That pink background is definitely game-sprite transparency.
EDIT: Just remembered that there was a big "what's your avatar?" thread a while back. Looks like it's just some random image she found on the internet. How disappointing...

I don't know. I've wondered myself. (or it could just be MS-paint being used to cover up whatever was behind it. And the generic 'pink' looked fine)
Anyway, I'll give up the avatar I made for Luckmann 1st. I figure you others will follow suit (I'm really excited to see what You have for me wintorsong. I've had a peek at the avatar Luckmann created for you, and I thought it was pretty amusing)
I know you told me the font at some point in time Luckmann, but I forgot what it was. So I just used some generic font.
I realize that doesn't fit his current color scheme as much as it could, and since I'm an over achiever I went ahead and modified it as well to match his current colors.
And a while ago I drew a cookie, because I thought luckmann and switched to promoting cookies once bears were mentioned in official Stardock sources... so since I drew a cookie, I might as well include it. I honestly couldn't decide if I liked the bear-o-mancer or the cookie more.
(I'm an over achiever. We were only supposed to have 1 avatar... so I guess Luckmann should *bear* whichever is his favorite the next few weeks. Not switch between them )

I love how Spartan have updated the list of Wintersong musings by linking directly to his avatar, resulting in it changing every time Wintersong changes avatar.

Likely an fairly accurate picture of me honestly. The particular picture that was used to create this avatar I actually had the hair wrapped around to about my mid-chest. But its been cut to shoulder length since.
I made a few avatars based on some of the map symbols that appear in the recent alpha screenshots.
The crystal and boxes look a bit odd outside of the game, but I think the city icon looks pretty sharp.
On the cloth map, however, I think the city looks out of place due to the bright color and cartoony style, while the other two really look like they've been drawn on a rough cloth surface. Weird.
I'm also working on a few new avatars based on the creature concept art from way back when this thread was started. I've only got a couple done so far, but you can see one of them to the left.

might be able to get it to meet size requirments if you shrink it and make it change colors faster...
Sadly, when I cut it down to 50x50, 5 frames was the max without going over 40 And shortening the time between frames didn't help, but thanks for the advice

I'm not trying to challenge the rules or anything, but I'm curious, and this is a thread about making avatars. There's a size limit on all avatars, animated or not, so it can't be a bandwidth issue. So what is it?
Is it an aesthetic preference?
Was Thrawn hiding a subliminal message in his avatar?
Is Frogboy afraid that the forums will start to resemble the seizure-inducing layout of the average news website?
Was Boogiebac's entire family killed by an animated .gif of Edward James Olmos, and it took three days to get him to come out from under his desk last time?
