Extracting Icons

Hello my fellow family members, I have a question for you, I dunno it might sound stupid, but here goes, is their anyway in which you can extract the icons out of a iconpackage, you know the icons that go into Iconpackager, and you see the icons on their own in the configuration panel, is their anyway to get your hands on those, like to say, use them as objectdock icons and so on.....I'm just curious thats all, cos their is a coupla iconpackager sets I would love to have as PNG's or ico files....any chance...maybe....or can someone direct me to a site where I can get sets like this, you know full sets, I don't mind paying.

Yes you can use Icon Developer to do so:

Thats what I do.

1. Find the package you want in the IconPackager window

2. Click on Icons & Cursors

3. Click on Desktop/Start/Folders etc.

4. Rightclick on the icon you want and select Edit Using Icon Developer (assuming you have the prog)

5. Rightclick on the icon size you want and select Export Image(s)

6. Name it / Save it and viola!

Hiya Fellow Family menbers....whooooeeeeee I've been wondering how people use so many of the icons out of iconpackager, now I know how....I think I'm gonna turn Quaker and marry yer' all...oh wait yer' all fellas..ok we'll just get engaged then...thank you, thank you so much, now me and me Dad are going to have a field day...thanks again everyone for a quick response and damn thanks for the right answers, although I didn't expect anything less, I must admit....whooooeeeee sorry Messiah, when you do icon batches, and it asks you to pick a size and I want to use them for objectdock purposes, what is the best size to choose, I run a XP SP3-32 bit

whatever.ip is just a renamed whatever.zip you can rename it and use winzip to extract them all out into a folder at once you can use IZARC to extract to folder without renaming

I've done that also. I've noticed sometimes when using them on a dock it doesn't get the bigger sizes and looks cruddy. The way I described is probably time consuming, but I found it out on my own because I didn't think to come to this fine site and ask the question.

when you do icon batches, and it asks you to pick a size and I want to use them for objectdock purposes, what is the best size to choose, I run a XP SP3-32 bit

If it'll let you, always pick the 256 size since that's the biggest OD will zoom to. Get's you the best quality if you zoom out to 256. I don't usually zoom that big though. I use the 256 size but usually only zoom to 128 unless I'm trying to showcase something in a SS.

Ja Bichur but it doesn't actually show you whats what in an extraction, all it says is icon 1 , icon 2 etc etc, so how do you know which ones to pick, plus I notice in some of the iconpackages in shared documents, when you go to extract from the folder, their is nothing in it
