I had installed IconPackager but soon removed it due to several issues that occured on my computer.
On the set default programs menu (control panel > Programs > default programs > set default programs) when I try to click some of the programs to change the file types associated by it, an error message pops up:
"Program Defaults Control Panel Error
There was a problem loading the "Set a Default Program" page. (Error Code 80070483)"
The affected programs are: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Windows Mail, and Microsoft Outlook - which happens to be the programs that vista allows you to put on the start menu by default, right above the recently used programs list.
When I go to Taskbar Properties and set Firefox and Outlook to be the default programs for E-Mail and Internet, instead of the icon and 2 lines of text it only shows a blank piece of paper icon. When I click on it, it displays the following error message:
"The item you selected is unavaliable. It might have been moved, renamed, or removed. Do you want to remove it from the list?"
The last problem I've been experiencing is that some of my icons have changed. I have discovered 2 so far: Removable drives (USB) has an icon of a cassette tape. Word 97-2003 files have the same blank sheet of paper sign as the shortcuts in my start menu.
I am using Vista Home Premium 64bit with SP1.
If anybody can share some information regarding this issue or suggest a fix of some sort, it would be much appreciated.
