I have zero tolerance for this type of thing. Only an OS could get away with these kinds of error messages and still maintain my support... the irony is that the pirates don't have to deal with these dialogues, only the paying customer is hasseled.
This is an effort to protect not only the assets of the company but also to protect the serial number of the subscriber. If someone should obtain your account information we can track the use of it and restore to you what you paid for. It is annoying from time to time to deal with this system but it does not come up so often as you think. We pride ourselves on thinking of the customer first when it comes to our priorities and only then do we consider the pirates. I'm certain if you ask around in these forums you will hear the positive rapport this creates about our products.
