Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

[SOLVED] How do I reposition the launchers on ObjectDock plus

By Posted May 19, 2008 00:14:37
I have searched the forums with no luck so far. I have started using ObjectDock Plus and Like it, but I have a problem getting the launchers positioned where I want them.

I have tried to left-click the icon and hold it while draging it to the left or right but that does not work for me. could someone tell me if what I am attempting should work. If not, could you tell me how to adjust the placement of the various icons so I can get the groupings I want?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[SLOVED]  Thanks to cagedty who pointed out that having my mouse switched to left-handed could cause the problem.

I switched the mouse back to the default and was able to modifu the icon/launcher position as desired.  Then, returned to the, for me, more comfortable left-handed position.

do you have 'lock dragging' turned on

right click on the dock and check the menu options

No, sorry, I should have said in the first post.

The way it responded when I first tried caused me to go looking for such an option. I tried it with the option checked and un-checked. I get the same reaction either way.

The icon I am attempting to move starts to move and then hits the edge of the adjacent icon and drops back to it's original location.

Thanks for the pointer. I went there and tried all the items listed - no joy. The original poster didn't get a resolution either.

Believe it or not, I really did search for this but must have missed that thread. Sorry for the duplication.

I will continue over there to eliminate any more duplication.

Are you using a left handed mouse? If so switch it back to right handed to drag the buttons. I came here looking to see if icons could be dragged at all then it came to me...

Works only with a right handed mouse.

cagety:

Many thanks. You were correct. I was using a left-handed mouse. When I switched it back I was able to position the icons/launchers exactly where I wanted them. What a strange problem.

Again, my appreciation for the help.

What a simple solution that was. I like seeing [solved] on the post, others can now refer to it if they have this problem. Stardock may have a way to fix this in a future update, save you "lefties" a headache.

When your mouse is lefty-configured, are you unable to use the right mouse button to reposition the icons? (Seeing as how the button functions would swap when you change from a right-handed to left-handed mouse).

I would think this is the intended result -- left clicking on an icon (when your system is configured to provide a lefty mouse) will bring up the properties context menu for that icon.
