Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

By Posted May 6, 2008 20:51:28

I Know how to edit this by Going into my skin folder and editing the image and saveing it back into the folder. I did it and It worked for the status bar but the image uses magic pink and That magic pink shows over my combo box buttons?

Original Image for that part I am editing

Changed It to this

I dont know what to do to fix this? The pink area is exactly the same size in the origial?

Rob, check the image to make sure it's 24 bits. I use GIMP too and for some reason, if you import an image onto a bmp and then try to save it, it makes it 32 bit instead of 24. just open the image and save it as 24 bit and see if that works.

By the way nothing changed in my combo box section not the glyph not the buttons. even If I delete the buttons alltogether including the glypph the pink is still there.

You have to use magic pink for the extra image I am almost shure! Dont anyone get mixed up. I tried it with alpha and it doesnt work. Sk... Though a master and phenominal skinner just may have misunderstood my question.

Let me try to explain one more time even though it is fixed. I dont want this thread to cause problems with skinners....

The extra image is a part of the skin that can not be accesed or changed in skinstudio. Well to my knowledge.. there is no integration for this part. This image is located in you skin folder c:\public\stardock\ windowblinds\ skin name\ extra_image.bmp. This image is the resizing gripper in your skins status bar area as shown in my imge for this post.

My problem was that because I didnt save the image a 24 bit.... It was causing problems with my combo box buttons.. the problem was that the pink part of the image was showing OVER my combo box button area. The combo box button image nor the glyph where changed in any way. They where just simply being covered by the Extra_Image.bmp pink part. This was because I didnt save the Extra_Image.bmp as a 24 bit bmp. It was saved as a 32 bit bmp. dont know why it did that but opening the image and saving it as 24 bit solved the problem.

I dont even know what bit means but.. I know now that it can make a big difference! LOL
