Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

Video desktop in XP

By Posted May 2, 2008 08:36:19
Hello,

I have some small video clips I would like to loop and play on my desktop in XP.. kind of to simulate dreams in Vista. Does anyone do this? What are the best programs out there to do this? Preferably somethign that starts on system bootup.

Thanks!

I've recently seen some DesktopX "dreams"  submitted . . but they ate resources like a bat outta hell.
A google search of video desktop xp will get you some results . . but nothing I've tried.

would a video card with a GPU help? Or maybe a multi-core CPU?

You could try . . but the OS isn't designed for it.

Every video card that isn't integrated has one. But as Zubaz said it's not designed for it. It'll eat up resources no matter what.

yeah, the few DX "Dreams" that have showed up here are pretty cool, but each and every one of them pushed my CPU to 100%... just not usable.

if you have a multicore cpu it would only max one one core though... Is Desktop X an XP program that plays videos on the desktop? I never heard of it.

True i admit dx dreams r hogger... And thats wat their name implies... DreamXR
R = resources
x = multiply
Dream = sumthin or a coef. only imaginable

however the resource consumption order is ....
Aura> Ripples> Sparks

& the great man to create all those dreams ...its me..
But dont worry i ll improve them wish me a gud luck
bye tc

Well you could try VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) it has a "play video on desktop" function in xp, the resource consumption is not that bad.. however it wont really start on system startup, but i guees you can make a batch script for that, and hey it free so try it out
