Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

What are the buttons at the bottom of the community page in Impulse for? They highlight when moused over, but they don't seem to do anything when clicked.

Yes, It is so good that I almost forgot it was a beta. Cool!

It is production value. It works.

However there are still TONS of updates on the way. Some of thoes updates will require tweaking but Impulse is ready to go. Please feel free to use it as often as possible. If you should have any trouble please contact us here or through support@stardock.com.

It is production value. It works. but Impulse is ready to go.

Please stop spreading this lie. Impulse does NOT work. For myself (and any other user out there) who is behind a corporate proxy server which requires a login, Impulse does nothing more than bring up a splash screen with the text "Impulse is connecting...", and then locks up. No application window, no error message, NOTHING.
The current (and every version for the past 3+ years) Stardock Central application does not have this problem. It simply WORKS. So please stop saying that a new application, which clearly does not do what a current application does without any issue, is "production value", "works", and "is ready to go"!!!!! You are lying to all of your customers by saying so.

Opus . . you (and the other proxy users) are a minority (that is being actively addressed by the devs).  Your connection issues will be resolved and all will be well.

Zubaz is quite correct.

In the works right now are several game match making tools, and a detailed proxy server tool among several other updates. This tool promises to be even more customizable than Stardock Centrals.

In the mean time Impulse does work and I am very excited about it as a product.

It also can provide you the means to download and archive your purchased software. So in the situation you are in you can download your software and all the available updates, plus the Impulse_setup.exe file and carry it to the computer behind the proxy. It will restore the archive and install the software for you.

Until the tools for proxy settings are completed this method will have to work for you and yours. My apologies for the inconvenience. If you should have any questions I would be more than happy to assist you with what I described above.

I happen to like Impulse. It does seem to load slowly tho. But it looks great, everything is there, and I like it better than SDC. One thing tho, I miss the settings that were a part of SDC. Like the ability to turn off systray support, etc. That way, you can stop SDMCP.exe from running at startup.

btw--- What is SDMCP? Stardock Master Control Program? Sounds like something from Disney's Tron movie, which was cool in it's time? lol

I like Impulse and it works well for me. It also does it with style. It does, however, lack settings like SDC had. Such as turning off systray support so that SDMCP.exe does not load at startup...etc. But I do like the overall program and look forward to using it daily.
