Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

How do I get DeskScapes working again?

Did My Colours kill DeskScapes?

By Posted April 27, 2008 02:21:10
Deskscapes did work, but now it refuses to start. The most annoying thing is that there isn't any help available. Does anyone know how to get it going again? Windows Dreams works fine (just received some nice new ones), but no luck with DeskScapes. It seems that MyColours killed it on installation, but can't be sure. I did a system restore, but still dead.

A few questions that the answers will provide info for those they maybe able to help.

What OS?

Did you try uninstalling MyColors to see if that corrected the problem?

How did you download MyColors, through SDC or Impulse?

Any other changes made, settings, new software?

I'm on an XP system so can't help. Hopefully someone will read your post that can help.

For me i am on Vista Home Premium, I never had MyColors, but the problem is the same. If I try to run a video using dream, I will see a split second of the video then a freeze, if I try to load a dream as wallpaper, nothing happens.

Is it possible I deleted the codec that dream needs to work?

I do occasionally sweep through programs and uninstall what is never used.

Did you update DeskScapes around the same time? If so, try this...it may fix your problem.

Uninstall deskscapes.
After uninstalling deskscapes, manually delete the "C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Deskscapes" directory and the "C:\Program Files\stardock\object desktop\deskscapes" directory if the uninstall process didn't delete them.
Reboot.
Install deskscapes
Reboot.
It should work at this point
