Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

Iconpackager x64, Object Desktop Premium Themes

3 weeks and counting...

Hi,

It has been 3 weeks since OD2008 has been launched.
It has been 3 weeks since IP4(x64) beta has been promised.
It has been at least 6mths since there has been any changes for IP(x64).
It has been at least 6mths since there has been any updates for Object Desktop Premium skins and suites.

When will we be getting the goods we deserve?

I believe many people have subscribed to OD near mid-year last year and their subscriptions will be expiring soon. When will we be getting the fully working x64 builds with the new goodies? We have been told to wait and wait forever. Will our subscriptions simply expire before we get some working builds?

In addition, where are the premium themes? I believe that OD2008 should have at least launched with a premium theme for it is one of the leading "feature" in OD2008. When will our first theme come? 2009? Do I need to ask if there will be any updates at all for the near future, when the last update to Object Desktop Premium Suites / Skins are in November 2007?

Do I need to submit more support tickets before we get informed about your plans or even get some information? Can you willingly provide some information about such plans and not simply delay stuff forever without any updates?

Since Object Desktop is a subscription, there should be regular updates instead of the quarterly adhoc updates that we are seeing. Seeing that a lot of people only use the 2-3 programs heavily that comes with OD, I personally do not see the added value of the other software in the suite and with the lack of updates on these core programs that I use, the lack of regular and informed skins, I feel that the subscription is not making bringing us sufficient value.

And from http://forums.wincustomize.com/309299, I do not see why they should bother saying they support x64. x64 users have been left in the cold for the past year totally even if you "support x64".

meant *bump* with regards to x64 not the skins/themes.... I'd like IP working before worrying about themes/skins (wb is good for me so I'm happy)

I am almost nearing the end term of the subscription with the new month... and I am still not hearing anything regarding this?

Me also, my Sub expires near the end of June... I wonder if anyone other than us two, (meaning "Rumour Control" or whatever StarDock calls Support & Information nowadays), will post to this topic before then ???

How in the heck should anyone, particularly any of us who aren't part of Stardock, know the answers to any of the questions you've asked. Seriously.

Well I understand from a very good source that if you are good you should see something under the...............

It has been said often around here, updates will be posted when they are ready. What else can be said.

Oh and free stuff, your guess is probably as good as anyones else's.

The update must be complete and fully working before it is published. The subscription allows for updates when those criteria are met. If you do choose not to renew I am certain that we would assist you so that the product is working for you once the update comes out. However Stardock will never put something out that isn't ready simply because we wanted to hit the date. It makes far less sense to put out bad product on time, than good product in time.

My apologies for the trouble however please keep checking. I am certain that once the update goes full and live it will be screamed over the airwaves.

HG -- you're saying your copy of IconPackager 4 works on Vista x64?
On my box the application doesn't even give an error when it is launched, let alone start up normally

The current beta 3.99.146 gave me the blank icon problem others experienced, how in the world did you get it working?
I click the exe, nothing loads. When I reboot my pc or exit a game all my icons are fubar. It's beyond me how you got it working...
