Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

Ubuntu general question

By Posted April 22, 2008 06:39:53

I have been as it is called "Lurking" in the various forum sites and learning the etiquette of posting and so on, and I keep coming across Ubunto, is this another os that benifits windowsXP or Vista or is it a completly different os like linux, that runs on its own in a different partion, just very curious.

Where can I find out about different systems like this and there price ranges, and if it is good to run two different systems at once, if it is a different os that is.

As I say just curious?

I have not read through all the posts, so forgive me if this has been suggested.

It is a little more inconvenient, but far safer in the end.

When I wanted to try Ubuntu I bought a second hard drive.

Then I disconnected my drive that had Windows and installed Ubuntu on the new drive.
Then the first drive is reconnected.

When I want to use Windows I enter the BIOS and set that drive to be the first boot drive, and visa versa for booting into Ubuntu.

That way no boot managers have to be installed, and there is no chance of hosing the Windows install.

Hmm I don't know where to try the virtual machine software? It may be Ubuntu-only thing? I currently use Kubuntu version of Hardy Heron.

Try Virtualbox. Far better than VMWare.
