Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

Three issues with Rusty Rooster

How to correct them in SkinStudio 6

By Posted April 9, 2008 06:15:12

Here's what I have:

1. From what I have heard, this results from using large fonts... which causes the "More Programs" button to display too far to the right. How do I move it back to the left without going back to small fonts?  Somewhere on WinCustomize.com the answer has already been posted, but I can't seem to find it again. Here's a link to an image illustrating the problem:

2. Somewnwhere on the forum, I've seen the answer to this one as well.  The menus on some right click menus (I don't mean RightClick) are "munged".  Here's an image illustrating what I mean:

3.  This last problem I have not run across before.  The Task Bar group menus are not displaying the correct color font.  In SkinStudio6, I found the color setting for this font, and it is 0 0 0 (i.e. black), yet it displays as gray.  What's wrong here?

If anyone can help me fix these glitches, I'll be most appreciative!

if the font is grey it normally stands for 'disabled font'........the skin has obviously been designed for smaller font being used, if you have changed the font yourself to a larger size.....then i guess you will encounter problems......

Treetog might see this post and answer you questions......

In SkinStudio 5, you have to go to section Start Panel / More Programs Panel / Background and then in "Content margins" set the left one to the correct negative value:
(ex: for me in french it's set to -155)

Though, seeing your shot, i think you'll have to decrease the value you get from 10 to 15 i think (you'll probably have to try different values before it will be correct ...)

N.B: I'm not sure at all you'll can see the section "Content Margins" in SKS 6

When selection an image, in SKS6, anywhere you see a "Text" tab, click on it and the contents margins are at the bottom right.

In SKS6

#1) Edit Startmenu and Taskbar/More Programs Background/Text tab - Make left margin more negative

#2) Change Skin Colours/Show me the skin defined system colours (drop down box)/Menu - you'll have to play with this to get it close as possible to color of the background of that menu.

#3) In Edit Startmenu and Taskbar/Taskbar Group Menu - Make sure to check the text tab in both Background and Menu Items

KittyMalone... I thought that somewhere he set the font that menu to the color for greyed-out, but the setting I saw was definitely set for black, and the menu items work just fine, as though they were not greyed-out. Anyway, I'm going to give all suggestions a try and see what happens. Thanks all for your responses.
