Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

Steps to turn "Earth Hour' into more then just an hour of helping Earth.

By Posted March 29, 2008 06:31:23

So people are planning on helping Earth, but only for an hour?

And then wondering where their thoughts have gone wrong.

Wanna help the Earth for more then one measly hour?  Follow these steps.

1.  Get cfl or led lights.  They may be expensive (well, the leds), but the energy savings will pay back over the next year or two, then you'll make money.

2.  Get energy efficient appliances.  A new 21 seer air conditioner would save 50% energy over your old 12 seer.

3.  Hang your clothes outside.  A dryer takes up tons of power for what you could let the sun do.

4.  Microwave.  Yes, the oven tastes better, the oven also uses 3000 watts, and takes 20-40 minutes to cook, while a microwave takes as low as 600 watts and cooks in minutes.

5.  Turn off things when not in use.  Not using that computer?  Turn it off.  That 500 watt pc will save 500 watts per sec every time it's off.

6.  Get an energy efficient car.  Don't like gas prices?  Their because people didn't care about the environment.  Go buy something AT LEAST 30 mpg.

Anyone wants to add stuff, please do.

Lets all bury our heads in the sand - that will make it all go away!

Actually fuzzy...that would work! If everyone had they're heads in the sand they couldn't screw things up anymore.

True!

Hey, I have an idea. Why don't we get rid of all the people? The Earth would be just fine then

Actually, that would be doable if we could leave earth forever. The effect would be like we went extinct. Of course, we would have to wipe out whatever humans too stubborn to leave, however.

Well as I've said already - there are people with that same idea! Oh and they are doing that already.
But it is a very hard thing to do and make it look OK to the rest of the world. Or that is to say they get away with it. But they do..!
Things are not going to get better. The world is changing and so are the ways that people think.
Everyone has some sort of problems and by that I mean even those with more fame-fortune too.
But those that see how to resolve the problems are doing what "they think" is best for them.
Not you! For you it is what they want you to do for their needs.
Few people really care about each other really. Even those of the same nation and such.
It is like who really stands on what ground for everything they truly believe. Fact is maybe the world is in a energy crisis and on the brink of being destroyed by the people here on it. By what they do and how they live. But what about countries like China? What is the world gona do about them and the problems there. Here we suffer and also enjoy the things made from China. But what about lets say their carbon footprint? That and other 3rd world countries that are not gona do anything to save the planet?

Does not matter what they believe - it is what they are doing. Believing and doing is two different things. Those people in these countries don't have a government where the people are in control. They are at the control of whoever is in charge. Thus they live and work as they are allowed to or made to do. That is nothing more to them but survival in their world.

How do you change that? Also why is it we look to ourselves and fail to see what are the real problems?
Because as I said already... we are just as the others! We look at what is best for us and what we think is best for the others we can influence around us. But do we really care that much?

It is a hard question and that question is why anything we try to do is not really gona work. We are not in control of such matters. Someone else is!

So go figure it out - how many people everyday are dieing needless deaths and why is it that way?
Thats your answer to your idea Fuzzy!
Plus you figure this too! It is easy to say in a few more years how others may also die because of some other so called good reason. Like an enviromental impact or some weather event. Or you think about it - they have completely already done so.

Not a bad idea Fuzzy - but a hard one to justify - maybe?

You know....sooner or later the earth will shake us off like a bad case of fleas and fix itself...after all...we're only a blip in the long existence of earth. And judging by the way we allow or ignore what the so-called "leaders" are doing to to promote extinction of the human race...I'd do it too.

I've never seen a larger more spineless group of humans in my whole 54 years of existence...not counting past lives...lol....just a hand full of people doing all this damage while billions just sit around like a bunch of dolts allowing it to happen.

Hey, I know, instead of perfecting the hibernation feature of our new OS let's create an active wallpaper that continually uses more energy for no real benefit.

We can even charge extra money for this feature.
