Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

can't use/configure DesktopX gadgets when it's placed inside an ObjectBar

if it's placed on the Desktop, it works fine ...

hello.
when i open a desktopx gadget to be shown on the desktop it normally works fine and i can configure or use  it also.

The problem is now, when I create a object bar and i add a desktopx element to be shown in my object bar, i can't configure it anymore

this does not happen with all desktopx gadgets, but with most of them, e.g.

There's no problem with "SD_EMail" gadget . I can configure it when it's on the desktop and also, when i place it inside an objectbar

But e.g. "SD_Calculator": When it's placed on the desktop i can use it normally, but when I add this desktopx-gadget to be a part of my objectbar, i can't use it anymore (neither typing numbers nor configuring it)

As I said, this should just be an example, with most desktopx gadgets, it's the same. I remember ther's one radioplayer which i can't use inside a bar, but another one yes..

Do i make something wrong? Do I have to change settings of a desktopx element before i want to use it in an objectbar?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I'm not sure but I don't believe Object Bar supports gadjets. If your useing the Import
Widjet Function and don't have the import as read only button checked it should work
fine,I think, mine does. You may have some corrupt themes try rebuilding them under new names.and then delete the originals because the corruption could be in the folders
themselves.
I'm not a big ObjBar user, but I have had Dx Builder issues with it probably caused by
me.But that was long ago.And my memory isn't what it used to be so, unfortunately I have
no miracle cures. All I can say is its fine on my XP Pro machine so it has not changed in
it's workability as far as I can tell.

Good Luck
Eddie

Hi Jingles,

I didn't see any "import as ready only" or so, just startet Theme Editor and picked a DesktopX item from the left side and klicked "add". Anyway, as some widgets DO have the ability to get conigured even when they are in an ObjectBar, that should mean that is has something to do with the widgets itself (the way they are programmed).
Well, I read somewhere recently that there will be a closer connection between DesktopX and ObjectBar for future releases of OD. So, let's hope

Thanks for your answer,
Regards, Launchee
