Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

changing a specific color

By Posted March 19, 2008 08:50:31
There is specific color in the skin I use that is messed up.  It is a very dark blue.  In the normal Windows color scheme it is the Tooltip background.  That color is used on some important web pages I use daily, and the text used by the page is black, so it's almost impossible to read.  If I change the tooltip background color on the display properties it's OK.

Problem is, every time I reboot or apply the skin it changes back.  I'm trying to change it in Skin Studio but can't seem to do it.  I've changed every color in the skin that appears to be close to that dark blue but none of them work.

Can someone point me to where I can change that color in Skin Studio, or is there a way to make WindowBlinds accept color changes made in the display properties permanently.

If you're using SKS6, are you changing this?...

Go to 'change skin colors'. When the screen pops up there is a dropdown box on top of the screen. Choose 'show me the skin defined skin colors'. The ones you need are 'tooltip' and 'tooltip text'.
Once those are changes to what you like, apply it.

Hope that helps you.

Ah, I missed the dropdown at the top. That works. Thanks.

I take it back. It's not working. It's not saving the changes. Is that a limitation of the trial?

Not sure, I never had the trial version. You applied it after you made the changes? I know that when you change the skin defined colors, you need to go to another section (any section will do), choose any subsection, and hit the 'apply' button.

I dont know why there isn't an 'apply' button in the colors section, but you can use any other section to find it.

I hope I'm being clear enough.

I saved it as a new skin. I then applied that skin. The change was not there, so I went back into studio and it was back to the original colors.

It should have saved the change. What skin are you using?

I have the same problem, but it is not only for color changes ( http://forums.wincustomize.com/304859). The problem appeared only since release 6.00.002. I am running XP.

You might want to contact Stardock Support for further help on this. It might be a bug that needs looking into.

I just downloaded v6.00.003 and it seems the problem has been corrected.

I downloaded again and reinstalled and it seems to have been fixed.
