BootSkin Skin Wanted

Please help!

By Posted March 16, 2008 15:05:39
All I want is a simple boot screen where instead of 'XP' it would say 'ASR', And where the XP logo is, I would like it replaced by the vista button.

Also, if you're willing to do extra, could it please say 'My Edition' where 'Home Edition' or 'Professional'. But if not leave it as professional.

Please make it asap.
I will wait until tommorow if need be but I don't know how these are made so if you could do it tonight, maybe within a half hour then great!

ASR-Tech please understand that maybe there will be not have someone to do it in time. Make deadline won't help to have it quickly.
I'm pretty sure that if someone is interested to do it for you he will answer to your post.... So wait a bit.

Sorry but you join up to this site, make no contributions to it in any way, and your only post on your first day is trying to have someone take time to make you a custom piece?
And "I will wait until tommorow if need be" makes you sound like you believe you're entitled to something.

And while we're making demands, I want all your money in small unmarked non-sequential bills!

Har har.
It's not my fault I don't know how to make them.
Anyway, I said if they could do it.
I'm willing to wait as long as possible (Within reason) to get one. And i'm still new, so how do you expect me to pull one out of my arse?

Also, I don't have a bank account.

I don't know how I missed this. At least it provided me some needed entertainment on this Monday morning.

Oh and yea, I so sure that this person is 76 yrs old as the profile show.

I would think that if you are asking for someone to make a piece specifically for you then any amount of time would be "within reason".

Also everyone here was new at one point or another and plenty of them learned how to make the things they wanted.

In the least, in the future I would suggest just asking nicely if anyone would be willing to make one for you and not putting a time limit on it. You'd probably get a better response.

What is "reasonable"?  And what happens after the time allotted has expired?

Bootskins really are fairly easy to create if you follow the restrictions.  You should give it a shot.  You may come up with something great.  Google for bootskin tutorials and "bootskin buddy".  that should get you started.  MS Paint can do a lot of what you need, but a more feature-rich app will make it easier.  I use the free paint.net to do what I need.  It's pretty easy to use.

While every once in a while you'll see a request fulfilled it's pretty uncommon.  Most skinners skin for themselves and then share it with the community.  The few requests I've seen fulfilled usually appealed to the skinner anyway.

So let's see what you have.  If you need help with a specific task . . pop back here and ask.  Someone is always around to help someone else trying to do their best.

Everyone . . let's remember that we were all new here once and didn't know how things worked.

I'm pretty sure that at one point or another, everyone who makes them had to learn....crawl before you walk and all that crap.
