Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

Out of curiosity...

I'm not sure if ths is the appropriate place to post this, but I was wondering if there would be a way to create something like orbit (see link) with desktopx.  It is a round application launcher, explorer, taskbar that creates a new circle for each level.  I would like to do some things differently and I want to know if it is possible before I think about diving in.  Any tips would be appreciated as well.

Anything is possible. Natively...as in without scripting it's not possible on any platform to my knowledge. It can be scripted but, will take some work.

Thermalsensor has a code in this thread that would be a great start. http://forums.wincustomize.com/?forumid=168&aid=152416#1223446

There is a DesktopX Forum here DesktopX Forum that probably is better for posting non support questions but, most DXr's check them all out regularly.

From what I know of DesktopX, it seems like an ideal platform on which which to build somthing like Orbit, but as SirSmiley says, it will definitely require you to get your hands dirty with some scripting and code. But it looks like it could be worth it.
I'd love to see something like it, both highly configurable and awesome-looking.

Good luck...

I actually have something here that was made by me and Martin years ago.... it's a DX theme that behaves in a similar way. I'll have to see if I can find the time to do something with it. (and it DOES look quite awesome.....)
