Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

how to get rid of recycle bin

By Posted March 7, 2008 03:54:43
Hi all...

I'm using Object Dock which has a bin icon, so I don't need one on my desktop... is there a feature in icon packager I can use to turn off the Windows bin (so it's not on my desktop anymore)?

Cheers all.

TweakUI - XP powertoy from Microsoft, that'll do it.

You can also right click on the desktop, select Arrange Icons By and then select Show Desktop Icons. This will hide all desktop icons. If you are using Object Dock you probably don't have any other than the recycle bin.

Since Choja didn't specify an OS...Don't use TweakUI if you are running Vista...XP only.

Heres an idea - why don't you left click on the recycle bin and draaaaag that icon into the recycler? then when it says are you sure you want to delete this item, click YES! and then presto! Its gone! Now begone and get a life.

Hey 'friend', this was posted on WinCustomize and happened to link to the JU forums too.

Why don't you just stick to 'blogging' and leave the skinners alone?

Open up TweakUI. Click on "Desktop" on the left - the word itself, not the expand sign next to it. That'll give you the option to toggle the basic Windows icons on and off, including the Recycle Bin. I use it myself rather than "Hide Desktop Icons," as the latter can confluct with DesktopX.

Same, and for some reason when I checked "hide desktop icons" some of my wallpapers displayed all funky. And also, I like to know when stupid programs add icons to my desktop without my permission, that way I can delete them right then and there.

Same here. Desktop shortcuts must die.

I'm not sure about RightClick, but with Rainlender open it up then right-click on it. Select "Options" from the menu. In the General tab (should be the first one displayed) click on the box next to "enable on Startup." This will put a shortcut into your Startup folder so it opens when Windows boots.

I am running WinXP, and I ran into this same problem. I fixed it by going to this site:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/expert/honeycutt_02september16.mspx

Scroll down to "Add Recycle Bin to Folder Options" and follow the instructions. This is a great option as it allows you to edit the registry to give you the choice in the folder options of showing/hiding the recycle bin.

TweakUI already does that and you won't need to edit the registry, which can screw things up if you don't know what you're doing.

to enable right click to run at windows start, go into the right click properties, click file....general option, then the startup options tab, check the start with windows box.
sometimes right click wont load at startup even with this box checked, so if that happens to you, go to where right click is installed, more than likely it will be in c:/program files/stardock/objectdesktop/rightclick create a short cut to rightclick.exe and place that shortcut in your startup folder.. on XP this is in c:\documents and settings/owner/programs/start menu/startup. hope that helped

Can't you just click on the recycle bin and hit delete on your keyboard? I can't remember if that is possible on XP but it works on Vista
April 16, 2008 04:55:01
No, it doesn't work on XP.
