IconPackager 4 sneak peak...

IconPackager 4 will let you change the colors of your icon packages on the fly.

For Windows Vista users, IconPackager will let users set their live folder icons independently of the icon package. So if a given icon package doesn't include support for Vista live folder icons, no problem, you can set them yourself.

The title bar and borders are from an upcoming WindowBlinds skin.

How exactly do you mean blank icons? Can you possible post a screen showing exactly what is displaying within the themes list of the application?

Here is the screenshot of the blank icons shown in iconpackager 3.2 update

That happens every time I load a new iconpackage. When I go to preview the iconpackage here is what I get.

Can you post larger images?  These are hard to read.

This is an 800x600 shot. The other images still looked smaller.

That happens for me on x64 with some iconpackages, but when I apply them the icons get applied correctly.

ramesese, I can now see what you mean. Its quite possibly an issue with icon packages that still use ICL files. Are you using Vista x86 or Vista x64? Specifically what version of Vista are you using?

bagginz: Yes, I noticed that on my system (Vista Ultimate 64bit) it is indeed the IP-packages with the *.icl-files that don't show up, while I have no problems using the IP-files that don't use the libraries.

Is this only a 64bit problem?
Which program does use the *.icl-libraries to create the IP-themes? IconDeveloper? IconExplorer?

JaLooNz this was the last responce we recieved from you in support: "Due to the huge volume of email we are experiencing we shall reply to you soon thank you for ....."We are doing a follow up with you presently. Please check you email for our support email. We look forward to helping.
The last reply I have recieved was ticket BHV-984539 on Jan 25 2008, which states that "...it should receive an update soon." (another similar reply to the same question was on Feb 13 2008). Though I have not recieved a relevant reply that will actually change the status quo of the issue yet. I believe you might be looking at the wrong ticket.

Vista x64. Yes this can also be observed in my ticket (same reference no). And not to mention the crash issue with some IPs.

Can we have at least some update for IP, or better yet release the IP4 as beta now? Its long overdue for a beta update.

I've used IP for years on my old XP machine and it replaced most all the icons on my desktop. But now with this Vista premium machine, lots of shortcuts are left with just the Internet exploror icon I started with. And since the start menu in Vista shows so little area, I can't see the icon change well enough to make it worthwhile fooling with it. If the new IP skins ALL the desktop icons, I'd keep using IP gladly.

MouseGoddess, specifically which desktop icons are not being changed? can you possibly post a screen shot showing any issues you are having?

Any updates?
March 10, 2008 08:47:14
When is this due to come out?
March 31, 2008 07:32:10
I just hope that resetting to windows defaults actually works in this new version. I can't explain just how much trouble I have had trying to get of unwanted icons that IconPackager has left behind when changing back to windows defaults.
March 31, 2008 08:08:26
Why do you want to change back to the default? Kind of defeats the purpose. I usually just reboot or log off/on and that puts the icons back to whatever set I'm using. I don't see any leftovers.

Running the latest version from SDC and it's great!

I'm disappointed they took the "All Icon Sizes" preview away.

I use it when I build a new package, to see if any of the icons are messed up.

Here's hoping they put it back.

I am not sure but maybe it is because I am on Vista64bit, but I do not see the new interface. My IP just looks like always.

Is this because it didn't update correctly, or is it just not (yet) working with Vista64bit?

The History-file (which is only accessible from SDC, but strangely not from Impulse) does not give any information about Vista64 compatibility).

At the moment there is no support, but one of the dev's said a beta would be out this week that will add it.

Wish you could "select" what icons you want loaded like the old version. Now all icons are loaded weather you want or not.
April 5, 2008 05:41:44
using version 3.99..it looks like wb 6..theres no option to make your own iconpackage like 3.2..this is more like a step back from being ahead
April 5, 2008 06:11:50
I didn't know this was out!!! Do I have to pay for it again? Even if I have IconPackager 3 or can I upgrade for free?
April 21, 2008 03:00:23
To many options LOST!! I went back to the old version

Sorry it took so long to get back here. Had some health issues to deal with.

Anyway, I can't give you a screenshot BUT I can tell you nothing changes but the recycle bin. Also, when I updated IP I lost 3/4 of my packages! I uninstalled it and went back to an older version, but they're still gone.

I wanted to test drive the new IconPackager 4 builds but when I try to launch the config window, it asks me for email and serial to activate. I'm an OD Ultimate user here. Anyone know what I'm supposed to do here or if this is a common issue that can be solved? Version currently installed is 3.99g(b).065 and I installed over 3.x. Should I have uninstalled it then install the v4 beta?
