Widget question ...

I think I've figured this out but just to make sure ...

By Posted February 15, 2008 18:38:02
I uploaded a clock widget and it was pointed out to me by Zubaz (thanks, Zubaz ), that the glass part was movable.

I believe I've found how to correct that problem (assign everything to one group) but wanted to get some feedback from more experienced widget creators on what they do to keep all the bits together.

Thanks

It can depend on what you're doing. Another way is to set activation to none.(Relation tab|Activation).

Thanks SirSmiley

My main concern was to prevent the individual objects from being moved independently of the whole. If I grabbed the main body part and dragged it, everything else moved with it, but I didn't realize I could grab the glass and move it off the main body part.

Putting everything in a group seems to have fixed that.

Another option, you can set movement to locked.

Its always a good idea to group things together if possible, but sometimes things are grouped inside other things, and that can complicate it more. I like using the locked or no activation methods as well, use them more and more these days.

All great suggestions.

Grouping them is the way I typically get them all to move as one unit:)
