DesktopX won't autostart

By Posted February 15, 2008 16:21:38
I loaded one machine and everything worked just fine. Well, I was informed that machine needed to be "repurposed". They gave me a second machine. This one is completely identical, except that it has more RAM and a larger hard drive.

I loaded everything onto this machine (I think I did it the same way) and it all seems to work, except that I can't get DesktopX to autostart. I've tried setting the check-box both in DesktopX and in DesktopX Builder. There's only one user defined on the system and it's an Administrator. I've tried it both with UAC on and off - no effect.

What am I missing?

Forgot one piece of info - it's a Vista system.

You can cheat and add DX to yoru startup group.
It'll get the job done.

I'll give that a shot. Just hate having to cheat, though!

BTW: ObjectBar is doing the same thing. I definitely have something different here....

This is humorous. I put them in the startup - completely forgetting to uncheck the 'autostart' boxes. They both started twice. Odd.....

Very.

It works once I uncheck the boxes. Like I said, I don't like to have to cheat, but it's a functional workaround.

I just wish I knew what was different since it worked just fine on the other machine.

Thanks for the help!
