Full screen width dock backgrounds

By Posted December 16, 2007 10:11:10
I was wondering if it was at all possible to set object dock to stretch the dock background all the way across the screen (or up it) to create an effect like the start bar? (instead of having the background stretch with the icons)

if not, I think this would be a good addition to the next version. xD

i.e: something like this:
[I edited my wallpaper to achieve the effect]
[dock on the left of the screen.]

free or plus version?

on the free
- position left
- appearance tab - stretch it out

= you'll want to add some blank pngs on the ends else the end icon will move off screen especially on mouse over - unless you select swing or none

Open up the Backgrounds folder, make a copy of the folder for the background you want to stretch, edit the background image(s) yourself so that they're like 2400*h or w*2400 or whatever (copy a repeatable area and begin pasting like crazy), open up the background.ini, change the Name value to that of the folder, then change the LeftWidth, RightWidth (for horizontal), or TopHeight, BottomHeight (for vertical) to 800 or so. Voila... edge to edge.

I tried it and it works, minus a few pixels on one side (barely noticeable at 1600x1200)
