Is This Possible? How can I do it? Would someone do it for me?

I've got Vista transformation pack 6 installed on XP SP2.

It installed with two visual styles, one is an awesome Vista looking visual style that I'm sure most people have seen around. The other has a taskbar that I love, but the rest of it looks horrible, so here's the thing...

Is there a way of modifying the standard Vista looking theme (the first that I mentioned) and replacing the taskbar on there, with the taskbar from the second msstyles file (the one where all I like is the taskbar.)

That way I have combined both msstyles files to make the perfect one for myself. All that needs switching over really is the taskbar.

Is this possible? Is there anyone that would mind doing it for me if I upload both through a zip file and send it to you? If not then how should I go about doing it.

I've wanted to do this for a long time so please can someone help me with this. Thanks.

I'd ask Vista Transformation support.  It doesn't play well with Windowblinds.

skinstudio will convert from msstyle but not convert to msstyle.

Is there anything out there that can edit an msstyle file and save it as an msstyle file, like you said skinstudio won't save as an msstyle file, is there anything that will?

Awesome, the application looks like what I need, I've got it running and I've imported the main vista msstyle now how do I use the taskbar from the other msstyle file to replace the taskbar on this one? Keeping it as thin as it is on the other msstyle file.

You might want to find a forum that specializes in that app.  This one focuses on Stardock apps and skins.

You might not have a lot of luck with that.....

Solution may be to get into Skinstudio/Windowblinds use...and adapt/alter those 'styles files yourself....as Windowblinds skins...

Though remember...that will be for your own personal use only...as redistribution would be a copyright issue.  Same applies even if you stick with the same 'styles format...

If they were WB skins you could just use the setting in WB to use a taskbar and startmenu from another skin.

What exactly is WindowsBlinds, is it an application that would have to launch on startup and how much memory does it use up? I've heard about it alot but dont know much about what it does and how it works, I don't want it to be like I startup windows and the standard theme launches and then I have to wait for windowsblinds to start before my desired theme is applied.

My situation is that I have two msstyle files and I want to take the taskbar from msstyle 1 and add it to msstyle 2, other than that msstyle 2 is perfect. There must be a way of doing this cos it's so easy to download msstyle files that people have made themselves so there must be a way I can do this right?

That is a pretty large question to tackle. Look us up on Download.com for reviews, also here is our page:

Can you extract the msstyle files to Photoshop? It would get it to a raw form for you to use. It is a tricky business mixing and matching software. Support can't really tell you how to rip up their own let alone another software pack.

Nope, it launches at Startup...Bickety-Bam! There it is.

Extremely low memory usage, especially on simple skins.  More advanced and/or animated ones take up a bit more, however, benchmarks demonstrate that WB's rendering engine typically out-performs the Windows one.
