Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

where can I get skins from?

Hi,

I have directskin, which allows me to stick a skin on my windows application.

Is there anyplace to download free skins from? I can't find any resources on this website for that,

Thanks,
Mark

Directskin is for creating applications with a skin. Where did you get it?
Windowblinds is what you probably want. You can get a trial here and skins here

I believe you will need permission from any artist to package their skin with your app.  Especially if it is a commercial app.

Hi Zubaz,

The company I work for payed for the directskin library. We've already incorporated it into our desktop application, but I want to see what other skins are out there,

Thanks,
Mark

Oh no offense taken - do you know though where I could get skins? Ours is pretty boring!

Thanks,

The skins on here (WinCustomize) are for use with WB, not commercial apps.  They are copyrighted, so you can't just use them.

I assume that your company is working on a particular branding?  Have they contacted Stardock Design to help with skin creation?  (stardockdesign @ Stardock dot com)

DirectSkin skins are not identical to WindowBlinds skins, btw, so you won't find a free library of skins for it.

The old Skin Studio used to furnish free peices of skins that you could assemble and customize. Anybody know where they are now ?

Lots of good artist around here that could do what you need...probably fairly reasonable.
