Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

No, this isn't a political rant...or anything even close. This is a program I just found that allows you to not only watch, but download video content from the web. Some uses are Podcasts, You Tube, Google Video etc.

This program is just under 20 MB's to download, but it's really worth it. You can watch one video...while downloading a bunch more. Set up your own "channels" and set it to download programs as they become available. Democracy saves the video to your hard drive(s). It is set up to automatically delete any video file older than 5 days, but you can also permanently keep any videos you choose.

This is really a great set-up...and way overdue. No more watching as your media player tells you it's buffering over and over again. Download the whole thing and watch it uninterrupted!
There are more channels than I could mention in a week, so I just suggest you download it and look around.

You can download it HERE (Major Geeks)

-or- HERE (The Democracy T.V. Website)

Not convinced? Here is their description......

1. Play Anything
Play virtually any video-- Quicktime, WMV, MPEG, AVI, XVID, and more. Browse your collection, make playlists, stay organized. One homebase for all your videos.
2. Get Internet TV Shows
Subscribe to any video RSS feed, podcast, or video blog. Explore hundreds of free channels with the built-in Channel Guide.
3. Search YouTube
Download and save videos from YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo Video, and other sites.
4. High Definition and Fullscreen
Your computer screen is a high-def display. Watch free HD videos in gorgeous fullscreen.
5. Torrent Power
Easily download any BitTorrent file. Fast. Then watch it in the same app. Simple.

Well, well, this is the second pat on the back I've given you today....first one for the audio recorder tip, and now this one.....thanks for yet another great tip. Haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet, but the description pretty much says it all ....looks like a rather handy video app to have.

Merry Christmas ~~ Enjoy!

And again....same to you and yours, with shiny balls (on the tree) and all the whistles and bells to make it a great one.

starkers.

Glad you liked this one too!

I STILL haven't gotten through all of the channels! LOL Some are better than others, but it sure is fun searching them. I haven't seen the Stardock/WC podcast listed yet though.
(hint, hint Brad)

Check the bottom left corner of the screen for a search box. It has You Tube, Google, Yahoo etc.

Merry Christmas!

Yeah it rocks. It's just that 99% of videos doesn't have captioning.
