How to thicken window borders on existing themes?

By Posted March 21, 2006 05:28:25
There are several WindowBlinds skins that I like to use, but most have VERY slim borders. This makes it a real pain in the butt to resize windows when there is no grabber.

I've got SkinStudio 4.6 installed. I've tried doubling the width of the left and right border BMPs and the height of the bottom border BMP with no luck.

Is there a simple way to make the window borders thicker?

Other than altering the images themselves, there isn't much you can do. If the frames have shadows, you can grab the shadow as well.

This is what happens when I try to thicken up the window borders...

What causes those gaps?

Most likely...the gaps are simply transparent parts of the image that are being stretched or tiled. Try filling the images where you dont want the transparency.
